Bloody hell Road! That was painful this morning. Felt like my first time on the mat.
Remind me to never take yoga out of my line up....I'll be paying for that one for days to
come. Back at it on Friday though. I must have some of the tightest hamstrings known
to man. As for the 5K Monday, we smoked it. Yeah baby! Why did we join again? Seriously,
a good mix of runners and my favorite part was sucking in the exhaust fumes at the finish
line. Nothing like a little black lung and slippin' out the back door. Some things never change.
Keep it under the radar screen kid.
I feel I need reflective gear to fit in next time. Fit in? What an interesting concept. Hmmmm....
Is that something I want to do, EVER? How 'bout your British arse? Don't forget she was
carrying a few protein bars as well. It was comforting to know she was there with the "goods"
just in case I suddenly had a bar craving and needed some water to kick it back with...
Always need a good chaser! Looking forward to the next one and seeing if we can beat that time.
However, I'll be sure I'm equipped with my tool kit next time. Reflective gear and all.
Off to eat some Indian food and watch a disturbing documentary.

Blimey Sauce! Yoga.....
I get it - nothing better for tight, old, newbie, triathletes; I was so stiff this morning absolutely nothing flowed nor was it going to.
Unlike your 'southern Louisiana ass' this Monday's 5k was fast... nice. Lets analyse it; my first ever running club as an adult - and yours?
by the way - why did we join?
Thought we would fit in because the group meets in the back of an Irish Pub, runs a 5k out of the backdoor .... blocks the sidewalk infront of the bus garage during rush hour with the finish line THEN files back into the bar, all sweaty, through the front door and gathers in 'the back room' - Nice .
I had a blast - not as fast as the Saturday morning 'just show up' race in the park.
There were way more, VERY nice, less serious people, perky pony tails , folded arms and fluorescent safety vests .. probably about 30ish runners? you think? .. good age mix though.
The woman who reached out as we arrived by gesturing at the clipboard to sign in, gave us a nice welcome, enthusiastic, very brightly dressed ... you pointed out that she had more shit 'fixed' on to her than we had in the transition areas... Hilarious - so true. A 5k/ 3.2 mile race does not need water, gatorade, goo, 2 different kinds of reflective vest.. impressive stuff! I bet she has a tidy filing cabinet....huh?
Seriously though - It was really good natured but folks knew each other ....felt a bit goldfish-bowly- lots of local 'types' that kind of looked familiar.
The BEST bit - apart from your amazing time - we get back amongst the first few and while everyone was filing in, back slapping and feelin' euphoric ... we creep out the back door ... PHEW !!!
Its good race & speed practice for the 10k in 2 weeks - so we will do it all again next week ...
outta here - hungry - what was that woman's name?
